South Carolina PTA governance provides the framework that guides our association, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and effective leadership at every level. As a constituent association of National PTA, South Carolina PTA operates under established bylaws, policies, and procedures that define the roles and responsibilities of state leaders, districts, local PTA/PTSA units, and members. South Carolina PTA’s organizational structure connects National PTA, the state association, districts, local PTA/PTSA units, and members to create a unified network focused on advocacy, leadership, and support for children, families, and communities.

Governing Documents

South Carolina PTA is guided by bylaws, standing rules, policies, and procedures that establish the framework for how the association operates. These documents provide consistency, accountability, and direction for leaders and members.

National PTA Affiliation

As a constituent association of National PTA, South Carolina PTA follows national standards and works within the mission and vision of PTA. This partnership strengthens our ability to advocate for every child and support PTA leaders across the state.

State Board of Directors

The South Carolina PTA Board of Directors provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the association. Board members help carry out the mission of PTA while supporting districts, local units, and members.

District Leadership

District leaders serve as a connection between South Carolina PTA and local PTA/PTSA units. They provide support, guidance, and communication to help strengthen PTA programs and leadership at the local level. District Presidents serve as the first point of contact for our Local Units.

Committees

Committees support the work of South Carolina PTA by providing expertise, developing resources, and advancing initiatives that align with the association’s mission and goals.

Strategic Plan

South Carolina PTA’s Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for advancing our mission, strengthening our association, and supporting the needs of our members and communities. Through focused goals and priorities, the plan guides our efforts in advocacy, leadership development, membership growth, and meaningful engagement.
