Local Unit Elections

Step 1: Assemble your Nominating committee

The Nominating Committee consists of 3 members who must be approved by your General Membership. Review your Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 1

Step 4: Present the slate of officers

The slate of officers selected by the Committee is sent to General
Membership at least 15 days before the election. The message must also allow for any additional candidates wanting to be added to the ballot (provided that they are eligible).

Step 2: Send out nomination forms

We provide a pdf and Google Form as a template. Make a copy or use your own.

Step 5: Voting begins

After the 15 days, & eligibility was verified for any additional nominations received, all
eligible candidates are are voted on by General Membership. Follow the Bylaws voting procedures outlined in either Article XII or XIII.

Step 3: Nominating Committee selects the slate of officers

After nominations have been submitted, the Committee will review all nominees and select the best suited one for each officer position.

Step 6: Create your minutes and congratulate your officers

Consider using the template below for Voting Minutes. Announce the Elected Officers and prepare for any transitions taking place. Remember to update the Officers in Givebacks for the following year.
